Summer NAMM 2010 was already over but I was still browsing YouTube for some videos regarding awesome guitars and gears and I stumbled across a unique type of guitar. unique not in a sense of design, but maybe we could consider it design, whatever, but anyway, the guitar that I’m talking about is the Glasstones Guitar prototype which was showcased together with a 3rd Power American Dream Amplifier, another new stuff from 3rd power.

Anyway. The Glasstones Prototype is an electric guitar. It looks normal, functions normally, double humbucking pickups and 3 ways pick up selector. Yes, you wouldn’t notice anything peculiar with this thing not until you scrutinize it further. The nut, frets, fretboard and other parts of the guitar is made of GLASS. Hell yeah, they were glass. Bow, don’t you worry because they said it was made of a sturdy type of glass. Anyway, the reason for the glass idea is that it improves the sustain of the guitar. That’s what they claim but watching the video, I am not sure if it did improved the sustain of the guitar, but I did notice that it did or maybe it’s just me. The 3rd Power American Dream was also a winner in terms of tonal quality. It sounded good as well. The Glasstones isn’t for sale yet so we’ll be watching out for it.
